Die sozialen Medien sind ein wichtiges Kommunikationsmittel bei den Protesten gegen die türkische Regierung. Das ist Ministerpräsident Erdogan ein Dorn im Auge. Ein neues Gesetz soll Abhilfe schaffen.
"Es gibt eine neue große Gefahr, und sie heißt Twitter" – mit dieser Äußerung eröffnete der türkische Ministerpräsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan vor einigen Wochen ein härteres Vorgehen der Behörden gegen Benutzer sozialer Medien. Dutzende Twitter-User wurden seither verhaftet, manche, weil sie Telefonnummern von Anlaufstellen im Falle von Verletzung oder Verhaftung bei Demonstrationen weitergaben. Nach Angaben der Regierung sollen nur jene belangt werden, die "zu Aufruhr aufriefen" oder "falsche und irreführende Informationen verbreiten".
In Zeiten allgemeiner Aufregung und Horrorgeschichten kann das so ziemlich jeder sein, der zunächst mal ein irreführendes Bild retweetet. Nun aber soll auch ein Gesetz her, um eine solide Handhabe gegen Benutzer von Facebook oder Twitter – oder anderer sozialer Medien – zu haben.
Innenminister Muammar Güler sagte laut türkischen Medienberichten, die Regierung prüfe derzeit die Möglichkeiten eines solchen Gesetzes, wobei insbesondere auch die "internationale Umsetzung" solcher Regeln untersucht werde. Das schien anzudeuten, dass die türkische Regierung irgendeine Form von Zusammenarbeit mit den Anbietern der jeweiligen Dienste suchen könnte, um Verstöße zu ahnden und Informationen preiszugeben.
Es sei nötig soziale Medien zu regulieren
Staatspräsident Abdullah Gül, der noch vor einigen Tagen gesagt hatte, er werde keine "Hexenjagd auf Twitter-User" dulden, äußerte sich am Dienstag ebenfalls zum Thema. Er gilt als sehr twitterfreudig und hatte erst im Januar führende "Tweeps" aus der Türkei getroffen, um mit ihnen Chancen und Probleme des Mediums zu besprechen. Das Echo bei den Gästen war damals überaus positiv gewesen.
Nun meldete auch er sich zu Wort, wie so oft in den letzten Tagen scheinbar kritisch gegenüber den Plänen der Regierung. Ja, es sei nötig, die sozialen Medien zu regulieren, sagte er, denn es dürfe nicht sein, dass die Türkei auf diesem Gebiet hinter "europäischen Standards" zurückbleibe.
Derzeit prüft man in Brüssel, wie man denn regulieren müsse, um die Freiheit und Pluralität der Medien, inklusive der Online-Medien zu garantieren. Gül schien aber auch anzudeuten, dass soziale Medien letzten Endes ähnlichen Standards unterworfen werden sollten wie Printmedien.

Das könnte also bedeuten, keine falschen Tatsachen verbreiten, oder Rufmord, keine Verletzung der Privatsphäre. "Kann ich dann als Twitter-User bitte auch eine Pressekarte bekommen", witzelte ein Nutzer.
Über Twitter verbreitete sich derweil die Nachricht, dass mehreren Personen, die von der Polizei in Gewahrsam genommen worden waren, weil sie nachts auf dem Istanbuler Taksim-Platz gestanden und auf ein Großes Bild von Atatürk sowie auf den umstrittenen Gezi-Park geschaut hatten, folgendes vorgeworfen wird: Organisieren unter dem hashtag #duranadam (stehender Mann), um gemeinsam auf den Gezi-Park zu schauen. Man konnte ihnen wohl schlecht vorwerfen, auf Staatsgründer Atatürk geschaut zu haben.
Wenn das zutrifft, mag es ein Indiz dafür geben, was alles zum juristischen Problem auf Twitter werden kann. "Organisieren unter einem Hashtag" ist den Behörden ganz sicher ein Dorn im Auge.

There is an ancient legend held in Mexican folklore that a cave in a mountain five miles south of Ojinaga, Mexico is possessed by devilish creatures who came from inside the earth.
There was an ancient myth held in the middle ages that some mountains located between Eisenach and Gotha in Germany hold a portal to the inner earth. There is an old Russian legend that says the Samoyeds, an ancient Siberian tribe, traveled to an underground cavern city to live inside the earth.
In Native American mythology, it is said that the ancestors of the Mandan people in ancient times emerged from a subterranean land through a cave at the north side of the Missouri River.
